What You May Need for a Transfer

Helpful details to have available when you call about a transfer.

  • Your current service address
  • Your new service address
  • Your preferred move date
  • Your existing provider information
  • Whether you need electricity, natural gas, or both
  • Whether service should stop at the old address

A transfer is not always possible. Whether your existing account can move with you depends on your current provider, the new address, your account status, and whether that provider's service territory covers the new property. Where a transfer is not available, a representative can review options for starting new service instead.

Who Controls the Transfer

Transfer eligibility and availability are controlled entirely by the provider. The provider decides whether the account can move, when service starts and stops, whether a deposit applies, and what verification is required. Utility Solutions helps you get to the right provider — it does not approve or complete transfers.

Call several days before your move where possible. Scheduling windows and cut-off times are set by the provider and can fill up during busy moving periods.
